Possible MSA Burp

Post by wsprowls » Sat May 01, 2010 8:40 pm

Hi All,

I have set up another computer and some pieces of test equipment in the garage so I can continue testing the Verification MSA. Well, guess what. It didn't work very well. It seems the new computer is so darn fast it will not allow the AtoD Module finish its analog to digital conversion before it starts polling its data bits.

I have played with 5 other computers, all having an LPT response time of about 4 usec per command. This new one is 1.6 usec. I just "assumed" all computers were using the same IEEE protocol for speed.

I have a quick fix in the software to handle this, but I will hold off re-releasing the MSA software until I am sure my "fix" doesn't mess something else up.

In the meantime, if you are running your MSA and the returned magnitude data is indeterminate (changes 30 or 40 dB), give me an email and I will send you a preliminary software change.

Scotty
